Registration

Q: How do I register and what methods of payment are accepted?

A: Registration for all Equine Entrepreneurship courses is hosted through the Texas A&M University Continuing and Professional Studies Office at
http://capso.tamu.edu/all-programs/equine-entrepreneur/equine-entrepreneur-registration

The total cost of the course, if paid online with a credit card or eCheck is $696.00, which includes a $1.00 transaction fee. Total cost of the course if paid by check through the mail $695.00.

Q: I need a receipt. What type of confirmation will I receive when I register online?

A: At the end of the online registration process, you will receive a confirmation page with the title of the program, amount paid, method of payment, name listed on the credit card, last four digits of the credit card account number, date of transaction, and confirmation number. Please print this page as proof of purchase. You will also receive confirmation by email.

Course Format

Q: Can you tell me when the course is slated to begin?

A: The course will begin Sept 10th, 2007. You will receive an email from the instructor after you've registered.

Q: How do I access the course and what is Vista?

A: All participants will access courses through http://elearning.tamu.edu, the portal for the Texas A&M Blackboard Vista course management system. Vista gives students secure access to course materials and allows them to interact with the instructor and each other using discussion boards. CEU participants will receive a username and password from the instructor prior to the course.

Q: How is the course content formatted?

A: Course lectures will be presented as PowerPoint presentations with voice narration. These presentations will be available online, and can be viewed with the free Adobe Flash player, which is available at http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash. A printable version of the presentation slides will also be available in PDF format. Students will need to download the free Adobe Acrobat reader from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.

Weekly readings in the textbook and various journals will also be assigned. Thus, participants can listen to the lectures at their leisure, but need to stay current with weekly progress in listening, reading and completing assignments.

Q: How do you see the course evolving over the time period? What time would you foresee on a weekly basis?

A: The lectures last 12 weeks and the student has an additional 2 weeks to complete their sales plan and presentation. The course will take approximately 45 to 60 hours to complete.

Class Communications

Q: Will there be any formal webinar lecture/discussion or will the process be targeted at the materials?

A: Class communication will occur through an online discussion board within Vista, as well as through email.
